Despite their early bedtimes, Trinity’s 4-year-old students can teach you a lot about nocturnal animals. Taking advantage of the school’s downtown location, Trinity’s two VPK classes took a recent walking field trip to the public library to watch a presentation by the Central Florida Zoo. Students got up close and personal with many nocturnal animals, including an owl, hedgehog, alligator, snake, and armadillo. Students waited with anticipation as presenters revealed each new animal. Even though the audience was filled with Florida children, audible gasps could still be heard when the small alligator was pulled from its crate. “The alligator was my favorite animal,” said 4-year-old Liam.
