Fun, Food and Fellowship… Three words that can describe the end of the basketball season at Trinity. If you know Trinity, you know all about this year’s successful basketball season for all of our Vikings! Success not only came in winning, but also in growing together in our walk of faith in Jesus Christ. The season didn’t end with all those trophies and wins, it came to a close with the annual Student vs. Teachers game several weeks ago!
The teachers, led by Coach Peoples, mounted a sizeable lead at halftime. Students, deftly executing offensive plays from Coach Henry, mounted a comeback, with sharpshooting by Omari, Lordinshe, Josh, Daquan, Donavan, Madison, and Sebastian. With 7 seconds left to play, Coach Henry drew up a surefire play to score the tying basket: all 18 students flooded the court, and the 18-vs-5 player strategy overwhelmed the teachers, resulting in several shots, student rebounds, and a foul, allowing the winning free throw to swish through the hoop after time expired.
How did the game end? Who won? That would best be answered by the high fives, big smiles, and a pizza dinner for teachers, players and parents, all of whom are winners!
“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14
Congratulations to all for a successful and fun season! “To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.” Philippians 4:20
