Trinity Lutheran School’s Kindergarten class has been super busy over the last several weeks learning about their community and its helpers. They took a field trip to meet and talk to a librarian, met with construction workers & pilots, and even had a visit from police officers and firefighters. These community helpers shared with the kindergartners how they serve us and our community. One student said it best, “[They] keep us safe and protect us from bad guys.”
After learning directly from the helpers themselves all of the kindergartners came dressed as their favorite community helper for a costume parade. Afterward, they each gave a presentation sharing two facts about their favorite community helper to show what they had learned and to honor their community helpers.
Our community helpers do so much to enrich our lives and our community! Whether they take bad guys to jail, put out fires, fix our homes and workplaces, or teach us new things and help us pick out a new favorite story — we are so thankful for their service!
