In December, the K-8 Student Council wanted to do something special to give back to the Church, and chose to purchase poinsettias for the loggia to bring some advent cheer to that busy corridor on our campus. The flowers were shared as a “Thank You” to the congregation for their love & support of the K-8 school ministry, which is represented by this Student Council. Student Council members also purchased a few new trays for the pots along the loggia that had broken trays and cleaned the area in preparation for Christmas & New Year’s worship.
Trinity Lutheran School students regularly engage in service & outreach opportunities. One member of our K-8 Student Council waters plants along the loggia as his regular service project for religion class. A group from middle school religion class often cleans and restores the busy bags children use during worship services to keep busy. All of our TLS art classes recently contributed their talents to create Christmas and New Year cards for church members who aren’t able to attend worship services, many worked together with church members to make hand made nativity sets to give to local residents of the Orlando Union Rescue Mission, and one of our VPK classes went to sing at a local nursing home recently too. These are just a few of many ways TLS students reach out into the community.
Happy New Year from our TLS Students!
