What a way to end the sports season at Trinity!  The 2015 – 2016 Trinity Lutheran School student athletes had a great time celebrating the season of sports on Thursday, May 19, at the annual Athletic Awards Banquet.

“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it.” -1 Corinthians 9:24.

What a great reminder this verse is to all of us, especially our Viking Athletes as they were honored at the awards banquet.  During the season these athletes triumphed together in success, held each other up in failure, and all grew along the way.

The students grew not only in their athletic abilities, but more importantly in their walk of faith. God blessed them all with many talents both on and off the court and playing field.  As they honed in on improving those abilities, they always remembered who gave them the ability to play and honored their Lord and Savior by playing to His glory.  It was a great season and one that we will never forget.

What a night to celebrate one final time with each other; a night to reminisce and one to give praise to God for all He provided during the athletic season. I could go on and on about all of the success and awards that were handed out to our athletes, but need to make sure that we don’t forget about the prize that we have attained through Jesus’ death on the cross, the prize that leads us heavenward.  My prayer is that no matter where we go in life, whether we win or lose that we never lose sight of what it means to be a child of God.  To Him be the Glory for ever and ever!

We give thanks for all of our student athletes and congratulate them on their successes throughout the year.  A special congratulation goes to Grace P. who earned the Athlete of the Year Award and Tanner R. for receiving the Spirit of the Year Award.
