100 Days of Summer

by Peg Green – Elementary School Teacher

Wh00sh! Z00m! 100! It’s hard to believe that we have already made it to the 100th Day of school! Time sure flies when you are having fun learning and growing.

On the occasion of our 100th day of school, students had the opportunity to venture from the regular curriculum. In class everything revolved around the number 100. With this 100th Day so close to National Lutheran Schools Week and Valentine’s Day, we took the time to reflect on the many blessings the students have here at Trinity and the things that mean the most to the children. Each student eagerly wrote five things they loved about Trinity on hearts and when these were all combined, we had a wonderful, personal display of “100 Reasons Why We Love Trinity”.

The fun and excitement didn’t stop there! As the day continued we did 100 exercises, built structures with 100 cups, put together 100 piece puzzles and paper chains, rolled a die and added until we reached 100, used the letters in “One Hundred Days” to make as many words as we could think of (way, way more than 100!), read books celebrating the 100th Day of school and even made an edible necklace with 100 Fruit Loops.

Imagine all the fun, learning, and growing ahead in the remaining 80 days of this year!
