Trinity Lutheran School’s music program is led by Mr. Justin Tayon, a recent graduate of Concordia University Nebraska in Seward, NE.  (Mr. Tayon graduated with a Bachelors in Music Education, Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education, and a Lutheran Teachers Diploma.)  Mr. Tayon loves being able to create music to honor the Lord and has been busy working with TLS students to prepare for holiday opportunities to share Jesus with the community through music!

Mr. Tayon shares with us, “God has given me a great gift and I can’t think of a better way to honor Him then to foster a love for music in others.”

Mr. Tayon and the TLS students delighted our guests on Grandparents Day and Veterans Day, and are now preparing for their role in “Downtown for the Holidays — Tree Lighting Celebration on Friday, December 4th, 5-10pm.

“Our next big event is Downtown for the Holidays, also known as “The Gift,” at the Walt Disney Amphitheater at Lake Eola Park.” This is an event Trinity participates in every year as part of the Mayor’s official Downtown Orlando Tree Lighting Ceremony.   Volunteers from our Trinity family serve as ushers and greeters for this event and our school students share the true story of Christmas with the community through musical performances.

TLS Grades 1-8 will be performing a musical entitled ‘Christmas in KidCity’ this year, and VPK and Kindergarten students will sing classic Christmas hymns and carols. Mr. Tayon is “looking forward to leading the kids in this awesome event of sharing the wonderful story of Christ’s Birth. What a way to really show God’s Love to Orlando! It’s going to be great!”

What a blessing to be able to share The Word through God’s gift of music – both on and off campus. Be sure to mark December 4th on your calendar now! Come out and be a part of Downtown for the Hoildays,  Trinity’s gift to Downtown Orlando, where TLS students share the Christmas story with all of Orlando!
