Race for Education

On Friday, October 25, 2013, Trinity Lutheran School will be participating in our Fourth Annual Race for Education. We’re excited that students from our 1 year old rooms up to the 8th grade will all participate! We invite family and friends to join us in helping to raise funds in order to continue to provide a quality education and affordable tuition. Each participant will raise funds by asking sponsors to contribute a tax deductible donation. Students may walk or jog around a designated area as many times as they are able in their allotted time. Students and classes will also have an opportunity to receive a number of prizes based on their participation in the Race for Education. Specific instructions are contained in the material sent home this week. Mailing labels are due by next Friday, September 6th. Please join us in this very special event. We look forward to seeing you on October 25!

School Directory on HeadMaster

An email was sent out last week with instructions on how to include your contact information in the School Directory on HeadMaster.  This is very important to help you communicate with other parents in your child(ren)’s class.  Please log into your account and select “Preferences” and it will lead you to where you can choose which information you would like other parents to have access to.  Thank you!

Parent Teacher League (PTL)

All parents of children attending Trinity Lutheran School are encouraged to become active participants in the PTL.  All families are members of the PTL and  the dues are part of your student’s registration fee.  The purpose of the PTL is to offer Christian help and guidance for parents, to bring the home, the church and the school into a closer relationship and to work in the interest of Christian education in Trinity Lutheran School.

The following PTL events are coming up and we still need volunteers for them. These are great opportunities to earn P.R.I.C.E. hours and have fun! Sign in sheets are available at the front office.

*  Grandparents Day Event, Wednesday, September 11th – Please contact Jamie Erpenbach at jamieerp@gmail.com

*  Fall Book Fair, September 10-12th – Please contact Lynn Hoctor at lhoctor@earthlink.net.  See article below for more information.

The PTL General Meeting will be held on September 26th at 6:00pm.  All parents are invited and encouraged to attend.  This is a great opportunity to learn more about what our PTL does and what parents can do to get involved!  We would love to see you there to share our plans for the new year and what we accomplished with last year events.

* Coming Soon:  Touch-A-Truck, Saturday, November 23rd. We are working on the planning stage of this event. Several committees have been formed and you can help us make this one the best yet!   If you own a business or know someone that can donate anything to help us, we will greatly appreciate it.  Please contact Diane Perez at dmperez13@gmail.com.

Fall Book Fair

We are in need of volunteers to help with set-up, decorating Fellowship Hall and running the register during the day for the Fall Book Fair. The bookfair will be open during Grandparents Day and we expect to be extremely busy during this time. Extra volunteers are needed between 8:30am and 11:30am that morning (September 11th). This event is less than two weeks away! A sign-up sheet is located in the front office. This is a great way to earn some of your P.R.I.C.E. hours. Set up begins on Monday, September 9th. The book fair will be Tuesday, September 10th – Thursday, September 12th. If you are interested in helping with the event please contact Lynn Hoctor at lhoctor@earthlink.net  or Cathy Fuller at cfuller@trinitydowntown.org.

Box Tops Contests Begin Again!

It is time to kick off the first BOX TOP contest for the 2013/2014 school year!  The first contest begins NOW and will end September 30th.  Please remember to cut those box tops and bring them to your child’s classroom.  We will have one class winner for the CDC…and one class winner for K-8.  The class winners will be announced in early October and will receive a special secret treat.  Remember…It’s free and only takes a few seconds to clip!  This is a great way to help earn money for our school!  Let the friendly competition begin!

P.S. Thank you to all parents, teachers and church members who brought in box tops over the summer.  Trinity earned close to $250 just during the summer months!

If you have any questions, please contact Stacy Walters @ slw2123@aol.com.
